Stability and cold-chain handling of lyophilised research peptides
Recent studies have examined how temperature, light exposure and humidity influence the stability of lyophilised peptides during storage and transport.
Published stability research has investigated degradation pathways in peptide preparations, including hydrolysis, oxidation and aggregation. Investigators have reported that lyophilised material stored at reduced temperature and protected from light generally shows slower change in chromatographic profile than material held at ambient conditions.
Forced-degradation designs described in the literature deliberately expose samples to elevated temperature or oxidative conditions so that analytical methods can be shown to resolve degradation products from the parent peptide.
